Preliminary
I am sharing my preliminary experience with Firm24 as I go through the process of establishing a company in the Netherlands. They committed to completing it in 20 working days, and with six days left, my experience has been disappointing.
(Writing in English for broader coverage.)
Unexpected Fees & Incorrect FATF Classification
Firm24 seemed attractive based on pricing and reviews, and the application process was smooth. However, at checkout, an unexpected €121 fee appeared because of my previous nationality (Russian)—even though I am now a Dutch citizen.
They incorrectly cited FATF, claiming Russia is a high-risk country, which is false. While they can have their own risk policies, referencing FATF was misleading. After a week of delays, they finally admitted the mistake and refunded the fee.
Payment Issues & Extra Charges
Despite displaying MasterCard, PayPal, and iDEAL as payment options, MasterCard was unavailable. I opted for PayPal for security, only to face a 2, 5% fee. Worse, they overcharged me, requiring another week to fix the invoice.
Lack of Communication & Delays
Firm24 claims you can track progress, but no updates have appeared. I emailed them on 3 February—they replied only on 21 February (18 days later). I also called twice, and both times was told, “My colleagues will contact you”—but nobody did.
Consider a Direct Notary Instead
I contacted 25 notaries—their prices were only €170–€200 more, but they offer direct, responsive service. With Firm24, I’m stuck waiting with zero transparency.
So far, Firm24 has been frustrating: • Unjustified fees & misleading FATF claims • PayPal charges & payment issues • Poor communication & ignored follow-ups • No visible progress despite the deadline approaching
I’ll update this review when the process is complete, but I wouldn’t recommend Firm24 at this point
