Lovely dungalow, brilliant indoor pool and good amusement park.

We loved indoor slides and Dungalow. Lovely town to walk into and staff at bike rental great. Outdoor pool bit cold during our stay. Front office staff not friendly or willing to give advice on things to do in the area. Our 5 year old was unable to use his area in tiki bad for the 2 hours we were there due to maintainance and we did not get refund for this, which seemed very unfair. Would be good if there were times for tiki bad and amusements were open for campsite guests only. Also it is far to expensive for a family to use when you don t have free use- £98 euro we paid for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Absolutely fantastic family holiday

We had an absolute ball. There is so much to do and everyone feels so safe. Tiki Bad and Amusements were brilliant. Acomodation was lovely and very secluded. Loved the freedom on the bikes. Overall great family holiday

Disappointed

Had to pay extra to use the pool. No sun loungers available so we had to sit on grass covered in dog poo. No recycling anywhere on site. Queued for 45 mins for bike rental but there were no bikes available. Food in snack bar was awful & over priced. Photos booths for ID cards took our money but didn't work and no refund.

Nostalgic

Last came here 9 years ago and has been previously going since 1999, so thought we would treat ourselves and have the premium plus (£4000 worth) . It was spacious and modern but also basic. 4 beds but only one had a wardrobe! En-suite with no toilet but this was where the sauna was placed so not ideal if the rest of the family wanted to use it. We had also bought a separate dwingalow for our daughter and her family. Both accommodations were dirty ( blinds in the premium plus very dusty!!) the dwingalow was filthy! The skirting boards and windows absolutely disgusting!! Very dated decor also. The park itself was brilliant as always!! Loads of rides and our granddaughter was very excited. The pool excellent as always too. The pub on site not good, no entertainment. The restaurant on site was very expensive and the quality of the food was mediocre. The shop was good and reasonably price but needed to be up at the crack of dawn to purchase bread. Overall liked the holiday, fab location, accommodations both disappointing and over priced. Would recommend but only for the park and surrounding areas. Had the accommodations not been too basic and the dwingalow clean we would definitely recommend.

A bad start and a few negatives but overall a brilliant holiday

We got off to a bad start as we didn't like the Duingalow we had booked. It was smelly, and the garden area for the kids was overgrown with only one broken sun lounger between the 4 of us. We asked if there was any nicer duingalows we could upgrade to and ended up paying a further £400 for number 140. This was much nicer accommodation but got off to a bad start (again) when we arrived to find the bathroom bin full of the last occupants used sanitary products, and a used razor in the shower room. We obviously raised this with reception and received an apology and assurances the cleaner would be round immediately. They did eventually arrive 45 minutes later. So not a good start! But once that was fixed we explored the park, and the kids were in their element. Lots of rides (a few out of action but I think most of them were for older kids so didn't impact us). The Tikibad is mental! Our kids loved it, but as a parent it was stressful. The outdoor pool was much more enjoyable for younger kids (9 or under) as everything is much more child friendly and you can keep eyes on. We didn't use our last voucher for the Tikibad as the previous day had just been full of teenagers that were queue jumping and going down rides like the cyclone 4 at a time. Crazy, if that carries on it's only a matter of time until a serious accident occurs. They need lifeguards/stewards at the top of the rides, not just at the bottom. I realise that all sounds negative but we did have a brilliant holiday. The kids had an absolute ball, maybe not the most relaxing of holidays for parents unless you have older kids that you don't need to supervise. The 'dancing water' spouts in the park were a big hit and it's got a brilliant play park. The location of the park is superb, Wassenaar is beautiful and the cycle to the local beach is well worth it the easy and scenic cycle to get there.

It was very fun and enjoyable with the variety of attractions

I lived all the outside rides but it would br even better if there was more tikibad slides ect. As i have done a few repeatedly, same goes for the outside rides but overall it was an AMAZING experience

Excellent park , something for everyone

We love duinrell and return year on year, the theme park has some amazing rides for all thrill seekers, The water park is fantastic with some of the best water slides and an amazing area for younger kids My only two concern this year were one the pool pre booking we have been several years previously and this year is the first year that we had to prebook the pool, it really took from our whole experience .. and the school tours they were a disaster this year queue skipping ect.. but in saying that the good definitely out weights the bad This year we stayed in D822 premium and it was very comfortable with air con, smart Tvs, large beds.

Really enjoyable stay.

We recently had a very enjoyable stay in a premium duingalow. It is very comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. I would have preferred a fridge freezer & an oven but this is just a personal view. It would have been better if the theme park had longer opening hours …even if for 1/2 nights (perhaps at the weekends) it appeared to cater mainly for the paying day customers instead of those staying in the park and even on days with longer opening hours (until 6pm) rides started to shut down from 5:30 pm. The on-site shop is very well stocked & had all the necessary essentials. This is our second time to Duinrell & was very disappointed with the on-site eating facilities …very limited. The park has grown considerably since our first visit in 2019 and feel they good do with a 2nd amenity area for older children to use in the evenings (more table tennis tables, badminton/tennis court or a trampoline area) especially to cater for those staying more than 1km from the current one.

Park was looking tired

We felt the park was looking tired and neglected in certain areas, pool on a few occasions was over crowded and staff didn't want to notice a lot of what was happening in Tiki pool, we noticed one evening teenagers jumping from railings in indoor pool into pool too dangerous.

Kids (12&15) loved it

Was shocked to be told on arrival that we would have to pay e30 to put our bags into storage until room ready. Ridiculous! Dungalow was a bit run down on outside with grass growing through patio and walls/outdoor furniture could have done with a powerwash.A couple of sun loungers would have been nice also. Inside was better and had everything needed except hairdryer and iron. Theme park and Tikibad excellent except prk could be opened longer or an hour earlier for guests. Could also have more control of queues/park area as lots of queue skipping by school groups and bad behaviour in park area/Tikibad by teens. Also abandoned queue for prebooked Tikibad as started queuing at 4. for a 4.30 booking but was still way back in queue at 4.30. Found bar/food offering very expensive so ate in town mostly and went to Jumbo to shop as supermarket on site had really long queues as usually only 1 staff on and no bread/milk after 5. Also could do with organised events/ entertainment in evenings for kids (soccer/table tennis tournaments etc) Loved location. Easy access to Hague /Leiden etc by bike or bus. Area felt safe .

Fantastic Holiday, will definitely be back!

After waiting 3 years to get here due to COVID restrictions we finally made it at the end of June this year for a 7 day stay. Our holiday was fantastic, there is so much for kids to do they were never bored. The park is also in the beautiful town of Wassenaar with lots of lovely restaurants. Also, a bus stops directly outside of the park which takes you to Den Haag where we spent some days exploring the city and visiting the beach. We were all really sad to leave and are already considering booking again for next year!

Great holiday but standard has dropped since last visit 2014

Accommodation: we’d a great location, very clean but could have done with some upgrades. Starting to get old and shabby. Over all appearance of site is lack of Maintenance, weeds growing in footpaths. Nettles around grass patches that kids would be close to. Theme park, disappointed that rides were closed. The length of rides were always crazy, no extra hour in the morning or evening that was just for residences. It was much more manageable on my last visit to Duinrell and for this reason would not bother returning. Bike rental expensive and needs more stock of bikes. Could not believe the bar was closed for a private function on the night we were leaving. We paid for this service as part of our price and this shows little respect to your customers. If it was my first time I would still think Duinrell was great but standards have dropped and I feel it could do with a make over to stay current and worth the prices. Would recommend but only if it was a good price or a quieter time of year!

Great fun but awful food and closes so early

The amusements and waterpark are great fun for the whole family. However most days during our stay everything (apart from the water park) closed at 4pm which is extremely early. The food on site is absolutely terrible, basically fast food if you’re lucky to find somewhere open in the midweek evenings. Thankfully the town nearby is fab with lots of options but wasn’t ideal with small children.

Fantastic accommodation

We stayed in the 8 person premium plus dungalow with sauna. It was absolutely fantastic. It had everything you needed including aircon which was well needed upstairs. My only negative about Duinrell would be the lack of staff especially the ones manning the queues for the rides. So many rude children jumped barriers and skipped people and staff never once corrected them or asked them to queue up for 30 or 40 minutes like the rest of us. It seemed to be a lot of younger, more inexperienced staff throughout the park, who perhaps hadn'tthe confidence to speak up.

Fabulous family holiday!

We had the most wonderful holiday. We stayed in one of the lodge tents which were stunning. Staff were wonderful, and so helpful. We arrived late at night and were met by security staff who sorted us out without a problem and directed us to our lodge tent. Will definitely be back!

Book direct with Duinrell

I unfortunately booked with Eurocamp, very bad experience with them. poor accommodation,on-site management was very poor and unhelpfull, also unkept grounds ( Nettles & weeds) - Eurocamp Only! The opposite could be said for the the accommodation, staff and grounds for Duinrell, Beautiful well kept accomodation and grounds, well trained and informed caring staff ( Special shout out to RJ who was so nice to my son during a difficult time). If we return to Duinrell we will be booking directly with Duinrell.

Great family holiday

We really enjoyed our holiday. Hiring the bikes was the best. Cycling Allowed us to see more. Theme park catered for all ages and water park. The water park was my kids favourite place . The accomodation was clean well equipped and comfortable. For day trips u can get 43 bus to Deg haug and Futher in the town of wassnaur you can get the 44 to Leiden. You can get the train from either Leiden or den Haag to get to Amsterdam. Receptionist were not very helpful. I asked where the laundry room was and was sent to closed laundry rooms twice I asked but was givin wrong information. On my third time asking at reception I finally was told where an opened laundry room was. Also I asked for advice on the best way to go to Amsterdam to get to AJax stadium by public transport. I was told by receptionist to look it up on my phone. I had looked it up I only wanted her advice to see which was the best way go via Leiden or Deg haag. Then our flight was cancelled and delayed for another day. I informed reception but again very unhelpful. I knew they were busy and had limited vacancy. I understood the their situation. Even if they could not accommodate us I was hopeful they could recommend alternative accommodation. I had three young children and I had sent alot if money in duinrell and it was not our fault for delay. Again I was told to look it up on my phone . They could not help and didn't know anywhere else to stay.

It was a magical experience for our family

We spent a week in Duinrell and we felt the time just flew. We arrived late and were greeted by very welcoming and informative staff. We stayed in the Premier plus Duingalows and we loved the accommodation. It was spotless and so comfortable. There was so much to do. I had read a few negative reviews but we had no complaints apart from the smoking in the park. I feel that there could be a designated smoking area facilitated for the park. We loved the rides in the park and the Tikibad and we're kept going everyday. We can't wait to come back next year.

Something for everyone of all ages!

Went at end of June. Lots to do particularly for younger kids. We enjoyed the indoor Tiki bath (which needs to be booked in advance for 2 hours but is open until 10pm) has lots of fun slides, pools, lazy river so something to suit all ages. Amusement park good fun too. Nice walk up to watchtower for viewing point. We hired bikes for I think 25 a day and this was def well worth it esp if staying a little further way from the park as we were. We cycled 20 mins to the really lovely and very long beach and had a swim. The town of Wassenaar is right beside the camp so we had easy access to lots of places to eat and buy food
