The products look amazing, quality could be better, and the customer support has been abysmal so far
I've received a Chunky Footed table a week ago. It looks stunning, I love it.
However, the brass table top and the marble part can both be freely rotated against the table foot, which is annoying because the table top pretty much rotates a little every time you touch it. A rotating table top is obviously not desirable. The marble bit is also not entirely concentric with the foot and the top, so it fits better in some orientations than in others. That's a minor build quality issue right there.
Naturally, I tried to contact Bold Monkey to find out whether this is something I can fix myself or whether I would need to return the table. There are no accessible screws and my only bet is to rip off the felt at the bottom of the table in search of the inner workings of the table. I don't want to do anything without getting instructions from customer support first.
Do you think it would be possible for me reach the Bold Monkey customer support? First I called the Dutch hotline number, which put me on a waiting line without any announcements whatsoever and after an unbelievable 45 minutes of waiting on the line, the call just disconnected. Are you kidding me? This is so incredibly disrespectful of my time. If you're not going to answer the phone within a few minutes, just don't have a phone hotline at all and save everybody's time. Or how about offering an automatic callback option?
After the unsuccessful phone attempt, I used the contact form to contact customer support. It took almost a week to get a reply and the reply didn't solve my problem. I responded to the support team's reply immediately and now once again haven't heard back in more than a week. Bold Monkey clearly needs more support staff.
Overall I'm having mixed feelings at the moment. I love the design and I have my eye on a few other Bold Monkey items, but at the same time the very first item I bought has a minor quality issue and the customer support experience has been bad so far.
